David Lynch in Germany 2007 |
||||
After a couple of public appearances in other European capitals, David Lynch has recently been to Germany to promote Transcendental Meditation (TM). I´m neither a practitioner nor an expert regarding TM, but the misunderstandings regarding the specific term "invincibilty" caused in Berlin could have been easily avoided. To the best of my knowledge, e.g. from what I´ve heard from someone working for the David Lynch Foundation and someone living in Germany who has been practitioning TM for decades, "invincibility" is the logical conclusion from a peaceful state of mind and not doing any harm to others. There have been four dates in Germany: in Berlin, Hamburg, Cologne and Hannover - the latter without Lynch´s participation. I´ve been to the press conference held at the Kempinski Hotel in Hamburg November 14th and will come up with an extended version of my impressions shortly, possibly with a few soundbites. David Lynch, Prof. Dr. John Hagelin, Prof. Dr. Bevan Morris and Dr. Emmanuel Schiffgens (the "Raja of Germany") spoke for about two hours about their plans to bring peace to Germany and more specifically about their intentions for building universities in this country. Some property has been bought in Berlin at the Teufelsberg ("Devil´s Hill"), but whether the city will allow a university to be build there is still unlikely. The panel was divided into four very different speeches, each presenting also a different approach to TM as well. The quantum physicist mainly elaborated on scientific evidence for the effectiveness of meditation and the unified field. |
